Season 7: UTOPIA was never a single patch. Morefun Studios announced it on September 8, 2026 and shipped it on September 16, turning Arena Breakout: Infinite toward a biohazard theme with two zombie modes — and quietly changing which gear is legal in each difficulty. Everything since has been follow-up: the autumnal event cycle, a crackdown on idle players, a live update on October 14 that touched eighteen separate items, and the Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium collaboration that opened on October 15.
What this covers: every change between the September 16 UTOPIA launch and the October 14 hotfix, plus the collab that began October 15. Why it matters: the season rewrote the gear rules — mode-based ammo and armor caps and the removal of T5/T6 penetration RNG — so a Season 6 loadout may no longer be legal or optimal. Who should care: anyone returning to Kamona for the zombie modes or the collab, and anyone whose stash is still built around last season’s tier math.
What Season 7: UTOPIA shipped on September 16
The headline is the biohazard pivot. Infected Zone is the PvPvE half of the update: the game’s extraction loop with six types of zombies layered on top, playable on Farm, Valley and Airport. It runs two difficulty levels that map onto the existing rulesets — Infected Zone corresponds to Lockdown and Heavy Infected Zone to Forbidden — and those tiers are assigned per map, with Valley on the lighter difficulty and Farm and Airport on the heavier one.
Zombie Endless is the pure-PvE half: one map, Airport, unlocked at Lv.8, where the zombies grow stronger as a run goes on. The loop replaces extraction pressure with attrition — clear zombies, complete missions, upgrade weapons and skills to bank merits. Two systems wrap the modes: an in-raid merchant that trades for items and information, and an out-of-raid Zombie Research progression line that spends points earned in Infected Zone on perks.
The rest of the launch package is a weapon-variety and balance pass. Morefun added two weapons and, for the first time in the game, seasonal weapon attachments.
| System | Change in Season 7: UTOPIA |
|---|---|
| Zombie modes | Infected Zone (PvPvE) and Zombie Endless (PvE) |
| Infected Zone maps | Farm, Valley, Airport |
| Difficulty tiers | Valley runs Infected Zone; Farm and Airport run Heavy Infected Zone (Lockdown and Forbidden respectively) |
| New weapons | A545 — top-tier, described as on par with U191 and H416; AK-15SC — high damage, close-to-mid range |
| Attachments | Four seasonal weapon attachments |
| Combat balance | Increased effective range, increased headshot effectiveness, flashlight nerf |
| Gear rules | Mode-based ammo and gear caps; T5/T6 armor penetration RNG removed |
| Post-combat feedback | New dog tag inspection animations, final-30s damage breakdown, shareable raid highlights |
The gear caps are the change that affects everyone
The balance section is where Season 7 stops being a content drop and starts being a rules change. Morefun introduced a mode-based ammo and gear cap: Normal is capped at T4 and below, Lockdown at T5 and below. The same pass removed T5/T6 armor penetration RNG entirely, alongside increases to effective range and headshot effectiveness and a nerf to the flashlight.
Read together, those changes compress the top of the gear curve. Penetration RNG was the mechanism that let a lower-tier round occasionally punch through armor it should not have; removing it makes tier matchups more deterministic, and the caps make the top tiers unavailable in the modes where that randomness did the most damage. The practical read for a returning player is that the ceiling in Normal and Lockdown is now defined by the mode, not by what your stash can afford.
The ABI Database change-list entry for UTOPIA records zero statistical changes for the patch, because its tracker fills in when a client build is recorded — and as of this writing it notes no build captured for the season. The numbers above come from Morefun’s own announcement text, not from a mined build.
The October 14 live update, in full
The October 14 update landed at 03:00 UTC+0 and was delivered as a live update, which means anyone mid-raid during the window had to exit, then click Update in the launcher to finish. It carried sixteen “fixes and improvements” and two “other adjustments”.
Two of those items matter beyond bug triage. The first is the map-wide removal of all fumigators from all maps — a change to the physical makeup of every raid environment rather than a bug fix. The second is a material swap in the Trophy Room: upgrading the Collection Room now costs a Vintage Typewriter where it previously cost a Broken TV.
| Category | Change (October 14, 2026, 03:00 UTC+0) |
|---|---|
| Audio | Fixed abnormal enemy audio in some scenarios; improved battlefield audio smoothness |
| Infected Zone | Fixed backpack lag when dragging items; restored Type II Lure Pheromone Grenade mutant summoning |
| Progression | Fixed melee-weapon mutant kills not counting for the “Respects Paid” mission |
| Economy | Fixed unsellable dog tags; fixed crate value after splitting Koen from the squad crate in Supplies Drops |
| Exploits | Closed abnormal reachable locations on Airport, Farm and Valley |
| Environment | Removed all fumigators from all maps |
| Trophy Room | Collection Room upgrade material changed from Broken TV to Vintage Typewriter |
| UX text | Clarified Season Mastery “Hidden Compartment” scope — Tactical Ops, No Man’s Land and Warlord Tournament only |
The remaining fixes are housekeeping: the Post-Processing setting no longer leaks into the main menu, limb damage multipliers on shooting-range dummies now match characters, the Experimental Ultra-Strength Treatment (Improved) activation-time description was corrected, and third-person gestures no longer display wrong in certain poses. Infected Zone, Heavy Infected Zone and Zombie No Man’s Land also lost an exploit that let the Downed Emergency Smoke Grenade leave a raid.
Supplies Drops 2.0 and the enforcement pass
Season 7 also brought Supplies Drops 2.0 back with new mechanics, announced alongside the season. Reward Crate XP now comes from searching containers, eliminating players and interacting with Terminals, and there are five crate levels: Lv. 1 starts at four rows, Lv. 2 and Lv. 4 each add a row to the Squad Reward Crate, Lv. 3 unlocks the Smelter, and Lv. 5 adds a row to both the Squad and Personal Reward Crates. Two Terminal types feed it — a Standard Terminal each team can use once, and a single map-wide Confidential Terminal that must be held against contest while it grants a large XP payout. The Smelter smelts Purple-quality items and below into new items with no usage limit.
Alongside that, the season bumped the value of entry passes, increased revive time as a raid progresses, raised airdrop frequency in the mid-to-late stages, added kill and XP reward announcements, added team numbers and phase-based voice announcements, and introduced special heavily armored AI units to the maps.
Not every Season 7 change is content. The B.D.C. security team announced a special enforcement pass against players who idle through matches while still collecting shared team supplies and Merit Points in Supplies Drops and Zombie Endless Mode. Penalties escalate — reclaiming raid earnings, deducting Merit Score, restricting mode access with longer periods for repeat offences — up to a 10-year account ban for serious violations. The team’s October 14 bans notice covers the September 28 – October 11 window: 10,848 cheating bans, 3,706 ten-year bans, 1,744 device or IP bans, and compensation paid to 89,618 players totalling 116.91 billion in Koen value.
The Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium collaboration
The season’s biggest content addition after launch arrived on October 15, when the Arena Breakout: Infinite x Girls’ Frontline 2: Exilium collaboration began under the banner Operation Exilium. It is not one event but a stack of them, with two distinct end dates: the looting-and-crafting events close on November 25, and the Military Supply pools run to December 14.
The free entry point is simple — reach Lv. 10 during the event and claim Sly Fox and Steel supply passes ×60, Arctic Frost and Shadow Wolf passes ×20, and Sangvis Ferri passes ×10. From there the event feeds on container searches: drawers, jackets and suitcases across all maps can hold Interview Access Cards, which redeem at the event store for weapon skins for the Exilium AMB-17 Assault Rifle and Exilium U191 Marksman Rifle.
| Event | Window (UTC+0) | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Exilium Gift | Oct 15 – Nov 25 | Lv. 10 login: Sly Fox and Steel ×60, Arctic Frost and Shadow Wolf ×20, Sangvis Ferri ×10 supply passes |
| Exilium Store | Oct 15 – Nov 25 | Interview Access Cards from drawers, jackets and suitcases; Exilium AMB-17 and Exilium U191 weapon skins |
| Dye House | Oct 15 – Nov 25 | Safes may hold the unpainted Klukai model; submit coloring pigment to finish it |
| Trash To Treasure | Oct 15 – Oct 28 | Smelt cannon shell, artillery periscope binoculars and laser pointer module for a target locator module |
| Sly Fox and Steel supply | Oct 15 – Dec 14 | Klukai and Leva characters; Steel Resolve H416 / M24 and Sly Fox UMP45 / H.I.D.E. 404 FAMAS skins |
| Sangvis Ferri supply | Oct 15 – Dec 14 | Melee weapon Cause and Effect; Firefly Refinement ZC807 and Vector 45 skins |
| Arctic Frost and Shadow Wolf supply | Oct 15 – Dec 14 | Snow Wolf’s Heart AN-94, Celestial Grace T191 and Qing Shang Harmony T951 skins |
The Dye House is the one to plan around. Safes on all maps can drop the unpainted Klukai model, and gym bags, suitcases and drawers can drop coloring pigment; bringing the model out of a raid and submitting pigment finishes it into the collab-exclusive Klukai character model for the Trophy Room’s Collection Room. Any unpainted Klukai model or pigment left unspent when the event ends converts into Koen, so the collectible is a use-it-or-lose-it item.
The Season 7 Battle Pass sits underneath all of this. Upgrading it grants 500 Bonds immediately, and Steam’s own collab announcement puts the free Bond giveaway at 4,800 — earned by logging in and completing extraction and loot tasks on any seven days through October 21.
What to do with this
If you are returning for the collab, the efficient order is fixed by the dates. Start with the Exilium Gift login requirement at Lv. 10, because the sixty Sly Fox and Steel passes are the widest door into the character pools. Keep Interview Access Cards and coloring pigment out of the Smelter — they belong to their own stores, and Trash To Treasure’s formula (cannon shell, artillery periscope binoculars, laser pointer module) closes on October 28, four weeks before everything else.
If you are returning for the raids themselves, rebuild around the caps. Normal at T4 and below and Lockdown at T5 and below mean the old habit of carrying the best armor you own into every mode now needs a check — and with T5/T6 penetration RNG gone, fights at the top of a mode’s gear band resolve on damage and range rather than a lucky roll. The flashlight nerf and the higher effective-range and headshot values push the same direction: fewer binary outcomes, more weight on positioning and shot placement.
Kamona is not the only extraction shooter asking you to re-learn its economy. If you are deciding where to spend the next hundred hours, our comparison of what dying actually costs in ARC Raiders, Tarkov and Delta Force puts the three side by side.
