We count page views with GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics service. As documented in GoatCounter's privacy documentation, it sets no cookies, writes nothing to your device, does not fingerprint or profile visitors, does not track you across other websites, and does not store IP addresses. A page view records the path, the referring site, and coarse technical detail such as browser family, screen size and country.
Because no personal data is processed and nothing is stored on your device, this measurement requires no consent and no banner — it is the one piece of measurement on this site that is not tied to advertising, and no analytics data is shared with advertisers. We use it only to see which guides are read and where readers arrive from. There is no per-visitor profile to opt out of; a content blocker or DNS-level blocker will stop the request outright.
4. Local Storage on Your Device
The only storage our site itself writes is a functional theme preference (`mneurix-theme`) that remembers whether you picked day, night, or system appearance. It contains no identifiers, is never transmitted to us or any third party, and you can clear it at any time via your browser settings.
5. Email Newsletter Subscriptions
If you voluntarily subscribe to our Intel Waitlist/Newsletter, your email address is processed solely for sending news updates. Subscriber emails are stored in a private repository branch — never in commit messages or any public artifact — and are not sold, rented, or traded to third parties. You can unsubscribe from any message, or request deletion of your address at any time by emailing [email protected].
6. Comments
Article comments are embedded via Giscus and hosted on GitHub Discussions. When you post a comment, your data is processed by GitHub under GitHub's Privacy Statement. We do not collect comment data ourselves.
7. Your Rights
GDPR (EEA & UK): you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
