Lord of the Rings Online has deployed update 49.5, introducing a new reward season and laying the groundwork for upcoming dungeon content alongside max level improvements on legendary servers. The patch arrives with multiple time-limited events and scheduled content drops spread across September.

Reward Seasons Now Live

Legendary Items Season 19 and PvMP Rewards Season 8 are both open as of the patch release and will run until December 2. Players can earn themed home décor items, new pets including the pied vulture and golden deer, and additional skins for the monster class. The seasonal reward tracks provide structured progression for both PvE and PvMP participants through the fall period.

Legendary Server Progression

On September 9, the level cap on legendary servers Angmar and Mordor will increase to 115. This tier increase coincides with a new phase of the Veil of Nine challenge, which introduces the Nazgul as part of the ongoing legendary server progression arc. The cap raise aligns with update 49.5’s stated goal of delivering max level improvements alongside the dungeon and seasonal content pipeline.

Upcoming Dungeon & Events

The Modas Abyss dungeon opens September 17 in two difficulty tiers, giving players fresh endgame instanced content. Prior to that, the Treasure Bugan event returns on September 10, offering Treasure Grim pets and unique titles as rewards for participation.

Patch Notes & Fixes

Beyond the content additions, update 49.5 addresses localization issues in Ettenmoor and applies quest adjustments. These quality-of-life corrections accompany the broader content rollout scheduled across the month.

The update’s staggered release approach spreads content across September, with reward seasons active through early December. Players on legendary servers should note the September 9 level cap increase as the immediate next milestone, followed by the returning Treasure Bugan event and the Modas Abyss dungeon launch later in the month.
