What this covers: NARAKA: BLADEPOINT’s October 9, 2026 update — the free-to-play The Legend of Qin crossover mode, its event calendar, the hero and weapon balance pass, and the crossover cosmetic packs — plus the Showdown Season 6.0 “Sandforge” groundwork that led into it.
Why it matters: It follows The King’s Avatar crossover earlier in the year, and it arrives in a patch that also reworks the Congeneric Skill system and retires the ranked “With Ease” mechanic.
Who should care: Survival and Rift Traversal players chasing the in-match Crescent Moon Valley stage, Showdown players after the [Suffer No Demon] re-run, and collectors weighing pack prices against the discounts.
NARAKA: BLADEPOINT’s servers were suspended for maintenance from Oct. 8, 2026 23:00 (UTC) to Oct. 9, 2026 04:00 (UTC), and the game came back with The Legend of Qin crossover running across Survival Modes, Rift Traversal and Showdown. For a game that already runs a heavy crossover cadence, this update is unusually broad: a new in-match stage, a returning Showdown event, a pass of hero and weapon tweaks, and a full cosmetic line tied to the animated series. It also lands on top of a Showdown season that only weeks earlier introduced a new hero and a reworked Souljade economy.
NARAKA sits in a busy 2026 fighting-game and melee-action field; if you are choosing what to spend your ranked hours on this autumn, our pick-a-fighter breakdown for 2026 maps how NARAKA’s seasonal rhythm compares with Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8 and Guilty Gear Strive.
The Legend of Qin crossover goes live in Survival and Rift Traversal
The headline addition is a crossover game mode that runs from the Oct. 9 update to Nov. 4, 2026 20:00 (UTC). In Survival Modes (excluding Immortal War) and in Rift Traversal, a [Moonfall Gate] appears some time after a match begins. Players can interact with the gate to teleport to [Crescent Moon Valley], and the gate supports only two teams of players before it closes.
Inside Crescent Moon Valley you take on a special in-match stage: protect Tianming, fight off the Qin soldiers, and rout every enemy. The shorter the time you take, the richer the rewards. There is a deliberate risk-and-reward wrinkle in the encounter — when you take lethal damage you instantly restore full Health, but each trigger reduces your Attack for a duration, so trading cleanly still matters more than simply surviving.
Alongside the stage, a “Whimsical Melody Chest” appears in the same modes. Players attack and interact with the chest to decipher its mechanism and earn rewards. The crossover also feeds a longer collection track: from Oct. 8 at 20:00 (UTC) to Nov. 1 at 23:00 (UTC), a Crossover Collection progress bar for the Whimsical Melody Chest sits at the bottom right of the Home screen, and filling it guarantees a crossover collectible. As with earlier NARAKA crossovers, those collectibles remain obtainable by searching containers after the event closes.
[Suffer No Demon] returns to Showdown
Showdown players get an event re-run rather than a new chapter. The [Suffer No Demon] stages return from Oct. 9, 2026 00:00 (UTC) to Nov. 3, 2026 20:00 (UTC), launched from the Showdown map. Sense level difference does not apply in event stages, which strips out the usual gear-gap penalty and makes the fights a fair read of timing and loadout.
The event is split into two chapters, each with two difficulty stages that consume different amounts of Fatigue. Chapter 1 opens with the event; Chapter 2 unlocks on Oct. 20, 2026 20:00 (UTC), at which point Chapter 1 stages close. Both chapters share the same Souljade drops, including [Pyreheart], [Venom Tempering], [Primal Starfall], [Ice Ring Break], [Thunder Rove], [Star-Shattering Force] and [Polesword·Blistering Edge] — the same set added with Showdown Season 6.0 — so the event doubles as a targeted farm for those drops. Event stages also grant trial access to Inor Wan, Kurumi and Justina Gu, each with preset Souljade builds, which is the cheapest way to feel a hero you do not own.
The crossover event calendar, in one table
Beyond the crossover mode and the Showdown stages, the update stacks several limited-time events. Their windows are worth keeping straight, because several close before the crossover itself.
| Event | Window (UTC) |
|---|---|
| The Legend of Qin crossover mode + Crescent Moon Valley | Oct 9 update – Nov 4, 20:00 |
| [Suffer No Demon] Showdown stages | Oct 9, 00:00 – Nov 3, 20:00 |
| All Under Heaven (Fragments of the Legend) | Oct 9 update – Oct 28, 20:00 |
| All-Devouring Maw | Oct 9 update – Oct 26, 20:00 |
| Dawnless Night | Oct 9 update – Oct 20, 20:00 |
| Dew Bazaar (Hadi·Skyhunter Morning Dew Gift) | Oct 9 update – Oct 15, 20:00 |
| Moon-Blessed Pass | Oct 9 update – Dec 30 update |
Two of these do the heavy lifting. “All Under Heaven” is the progression event that ties into the crossover’s story: opening stashes in Survival, searching supplies in Rift Traversal, or playing Showdown and Casual each week yields Fragments of the Legend, capped at 400 per week, with the first refresh on Oct. 14, 2026 at 20:00 (UTC). Submitting Fragments raises your Alliance rating and unlocks sealed chapters of The Legend of Qin. The Moon-Blessed Pass, meanwhile, is the long-tail purchase — it runs to the Dec. 30 update and hands Tara Gan the Priestess of Birth outfit, hairstyle and accessory on purchase, plus a set of Gold-off vouchers.
Showdown Season 6.0 “Sandforge” set the table
The October crossover did not arrive in a quiet season. The Sept. 3, 2026 update opened Showdown Season 6.0, “Sandforge,” with a Showdown-exclusive hero: Inor Wan, who arrives with an all-new skill and ultimate unlike those in the Survival modes. Sandforge also added a new boss and chapter in Herald Elder Vasshani, and seven new Souljades — [Pyreheart], [Venom Tempering], [Primal Starfall], [Ice Ring Break], [Thunder Rove], [Star-Shattering Force] and [Polesword·Blistering Edge].
The same update introduced a new rare attribute, [Sortilege], which increases the chance to roll the Critical Hit determination twice and take the better result, and reworked Souljade recasting around a “Spirit Essence” progress track: each attribute or value recast grants one Spirit Essence, and at 120 Spirit Essence you claim a Flux Shardshard. A separate copy of a game world running on its own server; players on one shard don't share the world with another.. A new “Jade Essence Crystal” is described as roughly equivalent to 40 Normal Recasts, and rare attributes can no longer be produced by attribute recasting at all. The change is aimed squarely at the inventory-management problem that made players hoard Souljades and inspect every drop. That season also brought the hero Anassa Nangong and settled the Showdown Paramount Season on Sept. 3 at 00:00 (UTC).
Sandforge followed the July 30 update, which had added the hero Ye Xiu and the Kaleidoscope Parasol weapon, and opened the Showdown mode “The Boundless.” That patch ran The King’s Avatar crossover collectibles from July 29 at 20:00 (UTC) to Sept. 2 at 23:00 (UTC) — the crossover immediately before The Legend of Qin — and previewed a future mode, “Formless Calamity” (formerly codenamed Chaos Outbreak), in which heroes arrive at Lin’an City and cannot carry over Sense level or Souljade progression.
Hero and weapon balance: what actually changed
The October patch is a wide but shallow balance pass. Kurumi’s [Purified Circle: Rapid] follow-up keeps its 30% Damage Reduction but extends it from 5 to 8 seconds and adds 10 Health restored per second. Tianhai’s single-enemy slam Damage Multiplier rises from 3.75 to 4.0. Cyra’s first- and second-stage tracking beams on [Light’s Mercy] go from 1.5/2.5 to 1.8/2.7, while [Aureole: Attach] is simplified to a fixed orb that lasts 4 seconds and heals Cyra and teammates for 300/420, up from 300/360.
Matari’s [Invisible Assassin] invisible duration goes from 12 to 15 seconds and now also grants the whole team a 10% attack bonus for 20 seconds — the kind of change that pushes a solo pick toward team utility. Tara Gan’s [Fate Rewritten] Glyph duration rises from 18 to 20 seconds, and Feria Shen’s Bronze Mech enhanced cannon damage goes from 3.2 to 3.5. Ziping Yin’s ultimate [Saving Grace] gets a tighter full-Rage duration (24 to 20 seconds) while [Saving Grace: Aegis] gets a longer one (16 to 18), and Zenda Wu’s bow Horizontal Strike multiplier against marked enemies slips from 3.3 to 3.2.
Two system changes matter more than any single number. The Katana gains [Reverse Blade Slash]: taking a melee weapon attack during the startup of a Charged Attack now triggers a powerful counter. And the Congeneric Skill system is gated behind the new Souljade [Switch·Radiance] — previously Congeneric Skills were available without it. The full pass also reduces startup and recovery frames across Congeneric Skills, lets them block Common and Charged Attacks, upgrades their Charged Attacks to Gold Focus over time, and stops Resonance Strikes from clashing with Common Attacks. Water Combat takes a trim as well: the maximum Momentum level drops from 3 to 2, and Momentum now builds through the Charge process while diving rather than through dodge.
In ranked, the “With Ease” mechanic is removed from match settlement: Rank Points are no longer reduced when your rank score is higher than the lobby’s average. The reduction rules remain in Immortal War mode, so the change is scoped to the standard Ranked ladder.
The crossover cosmetic packs, priced
The Legend of Qin line is large, but six hero packs carry the headline items. Each is discounted from its standard price in this update.
| Pack | Hero | Headline items | Standard | Now |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sword Saint·Ge Nie Pack | Lyam Liu | Legendary Ultimate Accessory [Flying Sword], Skill Accessory [Return] | 4,900 Gold | 2,800 Gold |

Beyond the packs, individual items are discounted, including the Greatsword Skin [The Legend of Qin·Shark Teeth] (1,500 to 600 Gold) — buying it also grants the matching Longsword skin in a later update — and the Legendary Whipsword Skin [The Legend of Qin·Chained Serpent] (1,500 to 600 Gold). Fairyland Penglai’s Seraphic Quartet area gets crossover decorations, among them four bronze mirrors that loop The Legend of Qin anime clips daily between 10:00 and 16:00 (UTC). The update also opens the [Devourer] Battlepass, with a Treasure Scroll at 1,200 Gold and a Glory Scroll at 2,840 Gold.
What comes next: Formless Calamity
The most consequential item in the October notes is a removal: Congeneric Moves are “temporarily unavailable and will return in the new season.” Read against the July preview of Formless Calamity — a mode with its own independent progression system, set in Lin’an City — the direction is a new season that resets some of the loadout experimentation the last few patches encouraged. NARAKA has not given Formless Calamity a date, only “a future version,” so treat the mode’s timing as open. What is fixed is the crossover window: The Legend of Qin content runs to Nov. 4, with the collection track closing Nov. 1, and the [Suffer No Demon] stages ending Nov. 3.
