Spike Chunsoft has published the console and PC specifications for Danganronpa 2x2, and the headline is a clean split: 4K at 60fps on PS5 and Xbox Series X, 1080p with an uncapped 30-60fps on Switch 2 and Switch, and a PC version that runs from 720p to 4K at 60fps.

What changed: Spike Chunsoft confirmed resolution and frame-rate targets for Danganronpa 2x2, and revised the PC requirements on October 22. Why it matters: An uncapped 30-60fps on Switch hardware is unusual for a visual novel, and the PC RAM requirement dropped from 32GB to 8GB. Who should care: Players choosing a platform, and anyone who looked at the original PC spec sheet and assumed it was a mistake.

The target table

PlatformResolutionFrame rate
PS54K60fps
Xbox Series X4K60fps
Switch 21080p30-60fps, uncapped
Switch1080p30-60fps, uncapped
PC720p to 4K60fps

Two things stand out. First, Switch 2 and Switch 1 are listed with identical targets — 1080p, 30-60 — which suggests the game’s rendering load is light enough that the newer hardware is not being asked to do more. Second, “uncapped” on a visual novel is a specific choice: the frame rate is allowed to float rather than being locked, which usually means VRR-friendly output on hardware that supports it.

The PC requirement correction

The October 22 update replaced the earlier recommended RAM figure of 32GB with 8GB. A 32GB listing for a visual novel was almost certainly a copy-paste or placeholder artifact, and the correction brings the spec into line with the game’s actual asset footprint. Players who had written off the PC version on the original numbers should re-read the sheet.

What is missing

Xbox Series S has no published targets yet, which is the one gap in an otherwise complete table. The game’s website also confirms there is no save transfer between Switch 1 and Switch 2 — a detail worth knowing before buying on one platform and moving to the other later.

Forward look

The remaining unknown is Series S, and Spike Chunsoft has not given a date for when it will publish that target. If the Switch 1 build holds a 30-60fps window at 1080p, Series S should clear the same bar comfortably. Watch for the final spec sheet alongside the release date announcement.
