The First Descendant ships on a monthly update train, and Season 4 has put new playable Descendants back on it: Raven in August, Ultimate Hailey in September, Monet pencilled into November and Ultimate Jayber into December. Nexon published the first three windows at its 2 July 2026 Descendant Fest livestream and narrowed them at the August and September developer streams. The last two still carry a month but no day, and Monet has no announced kit at all.

For a returning player the useful question is not “what is coming” but “which window is actually pinned down, and what has to be done before it lands”. This is the roadmap read as a plan, with the dated promises separated from the pencilled-in ones.

What changed: Nexon’s published second-half-2026 roadmap places Raven on 20 August, Ultimate Hailey on 17 September, Monet in November and Ultimate Jayber in December, with a balance pass or new modules attached to almost every monthly update. Why it matters: The dated windows are the only release promises Nexon currently stands behind; November and December have no day attached and Monet’s kit is unannounced. Who should care: Returning players deciding which update is worth a re-download, and anyone timing a Transcendent Weapon grind around the trading launch.

The cadence, before the roadmap

The game did not always ship like this. Nexon’s Dev Note Vol. 12 said Season 1 “Invasion” would “be released throughout three updates, starting August 29th” in 2024 — Hailey in the first, Death Stalker in the second, and Ultimate Freyna in the third. Update 1.2.0 followed in December 2024 and opened Season 2 “Void Chaser” with Keelan and Ultimate Sharen.

In February 2025 the studio changed the policy outright. A NEXON press release recorded the developer livestream’s conclusion that “the three-month seasonal update cycle has been lacking in terms of content scale and quality”, that the previously planned March update would be “rebranded as Season 2, Episode 2”, and that Season 3 would launch that summer. The season became a container for Episodes rather than a single release.

Dotesports summarises the resulting format plainly: “A regular season consists of three Episodes, with three monthly updates each. However, there could be delays or extensions, like with Season 3 Episode 4.” The same tracker records the slowdown that followed — through the first half of 2026 the only new Descendant was Dia, in February’s Season 3 Episode 3, while the monthly slots went to reworks of Gley, Sharen, Viessa, Bunny and others. Dotesports notes Season 4 “returns to the old release cadence for Descendants”.

That is the shape of the schedule a returning player is buying into: a Descendant roughly every month from August to December, wrapped in balance passes and module additions.

The windows Nexon has actually published

WindowDate precisionDescendantEverything else in the update
15 July 2026DayNoneVoid Intercept Battle: EXTREME, Serena skill modules, monthly balance
20 August 2026DayRaven (new)Season 4 “The Great Clash”, Karel’s Mothership Mega Dungeon, 11 Transcendent Weapons, Trials
17 September 2026DayUltimate HaileyCradle of Evolution, Lounge Storage Trade, Transcendent Weapon trade
15 October 2026DayNoneNew Transcendent Weapons and Trigger Modules, Transcendent Weapon farming support, Freyna balance
November 2026Month onlyMonet (new)Henosis Sanctuary (named by secondary trackers)
December 2026Month onlyUltimate JayberColosseum-A, Nell skill modules

The distinction in the middle column is the whole point. Nexon’s own 2 July summary listed the roadmap as dated items for July through October and bare months for November and December, adding that “the roadmap focuses on only major content, with monthly updates that will be applied regularly”.

What each window actually delivers

Raven — 20 August. Nexon described her as “a Non-Attribute Fusion Descendant and a firearm-based skill Descendant who uses stylish movement skills and a shotgun”, farmable from “the Legion Laboratory or the Sigma Sector - Isolated Desert”. Her kit ships with two Transcendent Modules — Nightfall, which converts her into a skill Descendant, and Law of the Back Alley, which lets her use all firearms. Patch 1.4.1 on 27 August then trimmed her: shotgun charge capacity on Shadow Shot moved from 5 to 3, Raven Feather’s cooldown from 18s to 15s, and Nightfall’s Raven’s Claw was capped at 10 simultaneous instances. A new Descendant arriving with a numeric correction inside its first two weeks is worth noting — if you build around a launch-window kit, expect one pass at it.

Ultimate Hailey — 17 September. The September developer stream framed the point of this one as distance. Both of her new Skill Modules activate at a range threshold: Dangerous Distance works “within 30 meters”, and Extreme Strike “at 12.5 meters or more” and “grow[s] stronger the farther away the Descendants are”. Nexon also increased Hailey’s overall skill damage. Her crafting materials come out of Cradle of Evolution: “Amorphous Material Pattern: Ultimate Hailey” is a 25.7% drop from the mission, and each of her two Transcendent Modules is 17.1%.

Monet — November. No role, weapon focus or skill kit has been announced. Dotesports records that “More details regarding November and December updates are yet to be revealed”, which is the honest state of the record: a name and a month.

Ultimate Jayber — December. Nexon’s roadmap line bundles “Colosseum-A, Ultimate Jayber, Nell Skill Modules” into December with no day. Colosseum-A is the mode Nexon has described in most detail — a 3v3 fight in which “a Descendant can become a giant-sized Colossus and invade the opposing factionfaction. An in-game group or nation players can align with or fight against, with its own goals and reputation system.”, which it calls the game’s “first ‘PvE-based asymmetric PvEvP’ content”. Everything the roadmap attaches to Jayber himself is a name.

The balance and module cadence between the Descendants

The Descendants are the headline, but the monthly slot almost always carries a balance pass and a module drop as well. Read together, the between-window content is as predictable as the roster additions:

WindowDescendant balanceModules and weapons
15 July 2026Serena and Ines reworked, Blair reworkedSerena’s Battlefield Nun and Archangel; Trigger Modules Arche Reflux and Arche Blaze
20 August 2026Keelan and Kyle rebalanced; synchronisation values adjusted, with Dia and Ajax buffed11 Transcendent Weapons; Trigger Modules Perfect Positioning and Aesthetics of Violation
17 September 2026Luna and Lepic rebalancedUltimate Hailey’s two modules; Trigger Module Freezing Breakthrough; 11 Ultimate Modules improved; 5 Transcendent Weapons rebalanced
15 October 2026FreynaAdditional Transcendent Weapons and Trigger Modules; Transcendent Weapon farming assistance
November 2026Not announcedNew Transcendent Weapons and Trigger Modules
December 2026Not announcedNell Skill Modules; Transcendent melee weapons (secondary trackers)

Two patterns are worth planning around. First, the balance pass is real and it is fast: Raven’s kit was adjusted 27 August, a week after she launched, and the 27 August notes carried a Developer’s Comment. Second, modules now ship on the same rhythm as Descendants. If you build around the module and reactor build order, the target keeps moving once a month.

The biggest system shift is not a Descendant at all. Transcendent Weapons arrived on 20 August as 11 farmable weapons with a Quality value (maximum 400), then were partly rebalanced and made tradeable on 17 September — all 11, with future ones tradeable at launch. Newly farmed weapons carry a 24-hour Trade Protection period; a weapon bought through trade is bound to the buyer, does not add Base Quality EXP, and needs a Trade Permit to become resellable.

Reading a roadmap that leaves months open

Nexon’s roadmap rows are not all the same kind of promise, and the July entry is the clearest example. The 2 July summary listed “Void Intercept Battle: EXTREME” as the 15 July headline. The 13 July Dev Note called it “Void Intercept Battle: Extreme (Beta)”. Update 1.3.34 then explained that after the beta Nexon would “spend about a month adjusting the Critical Point and reward balance, and then officially release it with the improved balance in Season 4”. The mode arrived in beta on schedule; the finished version arrived with the season, and the official leaderboard with it.

That is why the two undated months deserve less weight than the four dated ones. A day in the roadmap has so far meant a day; a month means a month. If you are planning a return around a specific Descendant, Ultimate Hailey’s 17 September date is bankable and Monet’s November entry is not.

What a returning player should plan around

  • Pick a dated window, not a month. 15 October is the next confirmed update on the published roadmap, with the Transcendent Weapon farming support system and Freyna’s balance pass. The dated Descendant windows in front of that are already spent, so the next Descendant you can plan a return around without guessing is not until a month-only slot.
  • Check your Mastery Rank before Cradle of Evolution. The dungeon unlocks at Mastery Rank 18, and its Public Operations need Arche Activity of 81,580; Private Operations can be started below that threshold. It is the Ultimate Hailey material source and drops Transcendent Weapons from Quality 271 to 400.
  • Use the catch-up systems that do not expire with the season. The Trials roguelite mode is built, in Nexon’s words, to be “accessible for returning players as well”, with a Rotation Build that hands you “a complete build with Trigger Modules set up”. Nexon said two to three Rotational Builds rotate weekly. Separately, the Boost Path for Mastery Rank 20 and below “is automatically applied without a separate application if the condition is met” and rewards an Ultimate Bunny with pre-configured Electric Condense settings, excluding Ancestor Modules.
  • Treat Transcendent Weapon trading as a market, not a shortcut. A traded weapon is bound, cannot raise your Base Quality, and the minimum listing price rises with Quality band — 100, 200, 400 and 600 Caliber across the four ranges. Farming your own copy is still how the Base Quality floor moves up.
  • Expect one balance pass per new Descendant. Raven’s adjustment landed 27 August; the 17 September update reworked Luna and Lepic; Freyna is next in October. Build for the mechanic, not for a single tuning number.

The roadmap is doing its job — it tells you which Descendants are coming and roughly when. It just does not tell you that November and December are still open, and that the newest Descendant on the list is also the one with no published kit.
